The Brookdale Community College Alumni Association is looking for nominations for both the Distinguished Alumni Award and Honorary Degree recipients.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to selected alumni whose professional, personal and/or civic accomplishments and service to the community have earned them unquestionable recognition. The award recognizes alumni for professional achievements (demonstrated accomplishment(s) in any field of professional endeavor) as well as personal achievements (demonstrated accomplishment in any field of community service or any area where participation demonstrates that the nominee is a shining example for others.

At Brookdale’s 49th Commencement Ceremony on May 16, 2019 Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden and Thomas Edward Bonhag, retired business professional and community volunteer, were presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award.  This year’s award will be presented at the college’s commencement ceremonies on May 14, 2020. The nomination form can be accessed here and is due by January 31.

In addition, the Alumni Association is looking for nominations for Honorary Degree recipients. To be eligible for consideration for this prestigious award, a nominee needs to have achieved excellence in one or more of the following areas: professional accomplishments, community / public service, personal accomplishment and/or inspirational life achievements with which the candidate might inspire Brookdale students.

Honorary degrees will be awarded at the college’s commencement ceremonies on May 14, 2020. Past recipients include Dr. Margaret Parker, Kevin Smith, Tim McLoone, Gwendolyn Love, Cindy Zipf, David Prown, Dianne Raver and Francine Acquaviva. The nomination form can be found here.
