Homestay Programs and Apartment Rentals

Most international students reside with family members in Monmouth County. Brookdale does not offer on-campus housing, but applicants who do not have someone local to provide them with a place to stay, can use a home stay program or they can try to rent an apartment.

The best option is through a Homestay Program. These programs place international students with local families. They can also arrange transport from the airport. Your housing should be arranged at least 4 – 6 weeks before the start of the semester. Homestays are a particularly good option for single students.

You can also choose to rent an apartment. However, apartments in Monmouth County are quite expensive. This is a good option for students who have a U. S. social security number (SSN). Most new international students are not eligible for an SSN. You should arrive at LEAST two weeks before the start of the semester in order to locate suitable housing.
