Medical Billing & Insurance

This newly updated fast-track healthcare training program will prepare you as an AAPC Certified Professional Biller (CPB).

Course curriculum covers a comprehensive understanding of the business side of medicine and the professional skills to work in a medical practice, billing service, hospital billing department, or insurance company. Understand healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, insurance plan types and payer requirements, medical billing principles over the life and revenue cycle of a claim to include data capture of patient registrations, eligibility and authorizations, accurate and medical necessity coding guidelines, claim submission and payment processing, denials and appeal process, reimbursement methodologies, and A/R collection follow-up concepts. Students will also see a workflow demonstration on how a typical and current medical billing and practice management software is used with such billing principles.

This 15-week, 87-hour course (includes two 3-hour review classes prior to your certification exam)

AAPC Certified Professional Biller (CPB) exam voucher is included in your tuition. Note: Textbooks required (Please note that if you took the Medical Coding class prior to 2021 you will also need to purchase new coding books for the certification exam).  The course is a structured instructor-led program, with a hybrid of online remote live and in-person classroom instruction. 100% attendance required; additional fee charged to students for class make-up hours to meet the 80+ hours AAPC certificate of completion requirements. Class is limited to 15 students per class.

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Copy of high school diploma or GED

Medical Coding Specialist

Students are eligible for 3 college credits!

This exciting fast-track comprehensive healthcare training program will prepare you as an AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC). This program will first teach you Medical Terminology followed by AAPC’s Coding curriculum.

This includes real physician-office medical records, helping students interpret the documentation, appropriately select codes, and become more accurate and efficient coders. Additionally, the questions in the AAPC text are formatted and worded to mimic the CPC® exam. 126 hours + 9 additional review hours. Class is limited to 19 students per class.

Prerequisites Required:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Copy of high school diploma or GED
  • Basic computer keyboard skills.

Note: Textbooks required. Introduction letter will be emailed upon registration. An additional fee will be charged to students for class make-up hours. 100% attendance required.
