Medical Assistant Certification Program
Brookdale Community College is formally recognized by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), a national credentialing organization for allied health professionals. Learn to be proficient in all aspects of a medical office through lecture, lab practice, and clinical externship.
Areas of Study: Patient interaction, overview of front desk procedures, infection control, emergency procedures, phlebotomy, minor procedures, EKG and CPR certification.
Prepare to sit for the National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification exam and ECG exam through NCCT.
This program is 345 classroom/lab hours, 121 online hours, and 160 clinical externship hours. The exam fees are included in the course fee.
Prerequisites: (Instructions to access prerequisite forms will be emailed to you upon registration)
(Some forms are required prior to clinical):
- 18 years of age or older
- Copy of high school diploma or GED
- Copy of clear criminal background check and drug screening (additional fee)
- Copy of malpractice insurance face sheet (additional fee)
- Physical exam, documentation of immunizations, 2 Step PPD, proof of Hepatitis B series, and
Note: Navy scrubs required. 100% attendance required. An additional fee will be charged to students for class make-up hours.
Classes will be a combination of Remote-Live via Zoom and In-person instruction

Clinical training will be completed by September 24th
