Medical Assistant Certification Program
Brookdale Community College is formally recognized by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), a national credentialing organization for allied health professionals. Learn to be proficient in all aspects of a medical office through lecture, lab practice, and clinical externship.
Areas of Study: Patient interaction, overview of front desk procedures, infection control, emergency procedures, phlebotomy, minor procedures and CPR certification.
Prepare to sit for the National Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
This program is 345 classroom/lab hours, 121 online hours, and 160 clinical externship hours. The exam fees are included in the course fee.
Prerequisites:
- 18 years of age or older
- Copy of high school diploma or GED
The forms to complete the following prerequisites will be emailed to you closer to the start date of class:
(Some forms are required prior to clinical)
- Copy of clear criminal background check and drug screening (additional fee)
- Copy of malpractice insurance face sheet (additional fee)
- Physical exam, documentation of immunizations, 2-step PPD, hepatitis B series, Flu vaccine & COVID-19 vaccine
Note: Navy scrubs required. 100% attendance required. An additional fee will be charged to students for class make-up hours.
