Nicolette Pavlik, “Nikki” is a 2021 graduate of Holmdel High School, and has played and loved softball since she was only 10-years-old.  She played for the Holmdel Hornets travel team and according to her family, Nicolette worked extremely hard before every season. “Her love and passion for the game was amazing. She would have intense workouts on and off season to get better and better,” according to Nikki’s dad, Dennis Pavlik.

Nicolette as a freshman played varsity softball for Holmdel High School. Unfortunately in 2020 with Covid there was no softball season her senior year. Nicolette continued her softball career and was committed to play softball for William Paterson University, Wayne, New Jersey. She spent a half year there and again there was barely a softball season due to Covid. Nicolette was one of the few players to continue from Holmdel High School to play collegiate Division III softball.

Nicolette then made a decision which she is thankful she did. She decided to come back home and attend Brookdale community college. She decided to continue her career in softball, local to her hometown.

She was recently named student of the month at Brookdale! Here is a short interview Nikki participated in while at college:

Who is your hero, and why? My heroes are my parents and my grandma. They motivate, encourage and push me to be the best I can be. Without them I wouldn’t be the player I am today.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I see myself coaching softball full time.

What would you do if you won the lottery? If I won the lottery, I would like to have my own sports facility. I would also want to help family and friends who may need help.

What are your top 3 movies? My top 3 movies are: Elvis, Top Gun Maverick, and The Benchwarmers.

If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? If I was a super-hero, the powers I would have is to heal sickness.

Well… Nikki seems to be a super-power with softball!

She helped the success in 2022 and 2023 for the Brookdale Jersey Blues. The Blues in 2022 ranked number three in the nation. In 2023 the blues ranked sixth in the nation. Nicolette, led the team in both years with home runs, batting average, and runs batted in. She made multiple first and second teams honors in the collegiate softball world. Nikki in 2022 made first team all – nation. What an amazing accomplishment!

So what’s up with Nikki now after coming off such a successful season?

Nikki commented, “I am now training, younger softball players. I keep getting more and more kids to train and I love it! Nikki is also now sharing her expertise and passion for the game with younger softball players. She also coaches the TNT 16/18 travel team. she has just received her associates degree. She still is undecided on her major. But she always says, “I believe whatever I’m going to do in life I will put my all into it and be successful just like softball!”
