Mikael Khachatryan, from Aberdeen, NJ, is one of eight Brookdale Community College graduates who were recognized with the Outstanding Student Award at the commencement ceremonies on May 13 and 14. Khachatryan, a nursing graduate, was honored for his academic excellence, community service, and personal accomplishments.

“Mikael is an extremely driven and organized student,” said Christine Hogan, assistant professor in the nursing department at Brookdale. “He was always going the extra mile to excel in his studies and in rendering safe, effective patient care. Most importantly, Mikael consistently showed compassion and empathy to his patients and support for his classmates,” she said.

“Mikael has a keen interest in nursing and a talent for scientific inquiry,” said Grace Brunner, adjunct in the nursing department at Brookdale. “His advanced skills and passion for the subject make him an ideal fit for a career in healthcare, and he will not doubt be a valued healthcare team member.”
