Brookdale Community College is excited to announce a new innovative class tailored for students required to take public speaking and who love sports. Starting in the Fall of 2023, during the 15-week term, this dynamic and specialized course will provide ample opportunity for students to enhance their communication abilities in a sports-themed environment.

The primary objective of this course is to foster the development of public speaking abilities that play a vital role in achieving success in academia, civic engagement, business, and professional spheres. By enrolling in this class, students will gain the necessary proficiency to thrive in their chosen careers, as it equips them with essential skills like academic research, technological literacy, ethical reasoning, critical thinking, organization, and spontaneous presentation. By refining these aptitudes, students will be fully prepared to excel in diverse personal and professional pursuits.

The class will be held at the Lincroft Main Campus of Brookdale Community College on Tuesdays from 1:30 PM to 4:15 PM from September 12 to December 20.

In line with Brookdale Community College’s commitment to accessible education, the course will utilize a free OER textbook, making the material readily available to students without additional financial burdens.

This class is open to all students interested in sports and tailored to meet all aspirations regardless of one’s major or background.

“We are thrilled to introduce this new class that combines the art of public speaking with the excitement of sports,” said Dr. Christine Webster-Hansen, Dean of Humanities at Brookdale Community College. “By providing students with a unique platform to express themselves in a sports-themed context, we aim to enhance their communication skills while catering to their individual interests.
