NJCAA All-American and Brookdale Player of the Year Bella Tomassini Advances to Monmouth University Women’s Soccer Program
After one of the most decorated athletic careers in recent Brookdale history, National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) First Team All-American and Brookdale Jersey Blues Player of the Year Bella Tomassini will continue her academic and athletic journey at Monmouth University, joining a women’s soccer program coming off one of its most successful seasons in recent years.
A standout in both women’s soccer and women’s basketball, Tomassini leaves Brookdale after a remarkable 2025 season in which she scored 26 goals and earned national, regional, and conference recognition. Her accomplishments included NJCAA First Team All-American honors, selection to the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division III All-America Second Team, Region 19 Player of the Year, Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Player of the Year, First Team All-Region honors, First Team All-GSAC honors, two GSAC Player of the Week selections, and NJCAA Player of the Week recognition.
Tomassini now joins a Monmouth women’s soccer team that captured the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) North Division Regular Season title after recording 11 victories last season. The Hawks return 18 players from that championship squad, including four All-CAA selections, providing a strong foundation as they prepare for the 2026 campaign.
Head Coach Kylee Flynn, entering her 16th season, will welcome eight incoming freshmen and two transfer students to complement the experienced returning core. Among the returning standouts are All-CAA honorees Chloe Messer and Ashley Lavrich, whose leadership and experience will help integrate the program’s newest additions.
Monmouth’s roster blends veteran leadership with an exciting incoming class, creating high expectations for the upcoming season. Preseason training is scheduled to begin in early August, with the team’s full schedule expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
For Tomassini, the move represents the next step in an exceptional collegiate career defined by excellence, versatility, and leadership. She joins a program with a winning culture, championship aspirations, and a strong returning nucleus as the Hawks look to build on last season’s success and contend for another conference title.
