The Automotive Technician Training program at Brookdale Community College has received Master Automobile Service Technology Accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation—the highest level of program accreditation recognized by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
Brookdale’s Automotive program has been accredited in the following area: Master Automobile Service Technology.
To achieve this prestigious designation, Brookdale’s automotive training program underwent a comprehensive evaluation by the ASE Education Foundation. The assessment was based on nationally accepted standards of excellence in key areas such as instruction, curriculum, facilities, and equipment.
“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said Michael Coley, ASE Education Foundation President. “Because this program increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders, it gives added assurance that Brookdale’s graduates will be employable entry-level technicians. As a result of the quality education provided by Brookdale, the motoring public will benefit since better repair technicians will join the workforce.”
Brookdale’s Automotive Technician Training Program is further strengthened by partnerships with industry leaders including General Motors, Ray Catena, Subaru University, Penske Automotive, Toyota, and NEVTEX. These collaborations ensure that students gain hands-on experience with the latest tools and technologies, along with access to career opportunities in the field.
In addition to preparing students for immediate employment, Brookdale offers a seamless transfer pathway for those interested in advancing their education. Through a unique articulation agreement with Pennsylvania College of Technology, part of the Penn State system and a national leader in applied technology education, Brookdale graduates can transfer as full juniors and complete just two more years to earn a bachelor’s degree in automotive management. Many similar four-year colleges also accept Brookdale Automotive Technology graduates for continued study and training.
The ASE Education Foundation is a non-profit, independent organization that evaluates and accredits entry-level technician training programs against rigorous standards developed by the automotive industry.
Ivan Anderson, assistant professor and chair of the Automotive Technology Department at Brookdale, added, “Over the past several months, we’ve worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation to ensure our program meets the highest industry standards. We are proud to be among the select programs in the country to earn Master Accreditation. This achievement assures students of a high-quality education and provides local employers with a pipeline of well-trained, career-ready technicians.”
