Brookdale Community College freshman outside hitter Gemma Ferris capped a dominant 2025 campaign with major regional and national accolades, including being named the GSAC Player of the Year and earning a spot on the NJCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball All-America Second Team.
Ferris, a Wall Township High School alum, played a vital role in powering the Jersey Blues to a GSAC Championship. She finished the season with 320 kills, 50 service aces, and 377 digs over 20 matches—numbers that placed her first in the region and among the top offensive forces in the nation. Her impact was not only felt at the net, where she ranked fifth nationally in kills per set, but also through her consistency and reliability in every phase of play.
In addition to her GSAC Player of the Year honor, Ferris earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-GSAC recognition, and was named GSAC Player of the Week during the season. Her combination of power, accuracy, and defensive command quickly established her as one of the most formidable freshmen in the country.
With her breakout first year behind her, Ferris now looks ahead to building on an historic foundation—one that has already made her a defining part of Brookdale volleyball history.
