Brookdale to Host Inaugural “Breaking In” Lecture Featuring Batman Producer Michael Uslan

The New Jersey Film Academy will launch its first-ever “Breaking In” Film Industry Lecture Series with a special event featuring Michael Uslan, the visionary Executive Producer behind the Batman film franchise. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Brookdale Performing Arts Center on the Lincroft campus.

Uslan is widely known for helping to transform how audiences view superheroes on the big screen. From teaching the first accredited college course on comic books to producing the groundbreaking 1989 Batman movie and The Dark Knight Trilogy, his career serves as a powerful example of how passion can become a profession.

A lifelong comic book fan, Uslan made it his mission to bring a darker, more serious version of Batman to audiences worldwide. During the event, he will discuss how he turned his childhood love into a career in Hollywood. He will also share insights from his journey, from student and comic writer to major film producer, and speak about his memoir, The Boy Who Loved Batman, which is currently being adapted for Broadway by Nederlander Worldwide.

The lecture will be followed by a live Q & A session with Uslan. Following the Q & A  a special ceremony will then recognize the first group of certificate holders from the NJ Film Academy.

Tickets: Admission is free for students with a reservation. General admission is by suggested donation of $10. All proceeds will support scholarships and supplies for the NJ Film Academy at Brookdale.
