2013 Basketball National Champion Valentino Thompson Hired As Semi-Pro Head Coach

2013 alumni and member of Brookdale’s first-ever NJCAA Division III National Championship basketball team, Valentino (Neil) Thompson has recently been named head coach of the Atlantic City Seagulls. Only eight years after having quite a stack of accomplishments while playing for the Jersey Blues, he has followed his love of the game down the New Jersey coast.

In Thompson’s sophomore year at Brookdale Community College he played point guard, and helped his team to a 33-1 record. That year the team won the NJCAA National and Regional Championships. He received First Team NJCAA All-American honors, First Team All-National Tournament Team, First Team All-Region, NJCAA Region 19 Player of the Year, NJCAA Division III National Player of the Year, First Team All-GSAC, GSAC Player of the Week, and was a member of the 2012 Dean’s List.
