Brookdale Community College is excited to announce the upcoming tryouts for its Esports Fall 2024 Premier Series. Gamers of all skill levels are invited to participate in the tryouts, which will be held in-person at the Esports Arena, located on the first floor of the Student Life Center (SLC) building. This is a great opportunity for students to showcase their skills and compete in the fast-growing world of collegiate esports.
Tryout Schedule:
- Valorant: Monday, September 9 @ 5:00 PM
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Tuesday, September 10 @ 5:00 PM
- Overwatch 2: Wednesday, September 11 @ 5:00 PM
- Call of Duty: MW3: Thursday, September 12 @ 5:00 PM
- Rocket League: Friday, September 13 @ 5:00 PM
Important Information:
- Sign-Up Deadline: Sign-ups for each game will close 24 hours prior to the scheduled tryout time.
- Location: Esports Arena, First Floor, SLC Building
Tryout Format: Participants will engage in the following activities during the tryouts:
- Introductions and team-building exercises
- Grouping based on in-game rank and preferred role
- Scrimmages with real-time coaching and gameplay analysis (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will feature a tournament-style format)
Judging Criteria:
- Communication
- Rank
- Teamwork
- Mechanics (aim, movement, positioning, etc.)
- Attitude
Requirements for Varsity Squad Membership:
- Full-time enrollment at Brookdale Community College
- Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Consistent attendance at all practices and official matches
- *Call of Duty: MW3 players must own the game on PC (Battle.net or Steam)
- Rocket League will be played on PC

To participate in the tryouts, students must complete the sign-up questionnaire in advance. All students will be checked in at the door on the day of the tryout.
