The Brookdale Community College Jersey Blues earned their 9th NJCAA Region 19 Champions of Character Award from the Fall 2024 to Spring 2025 semesters. The Jersey Blues exemplified the true spirit of competition as they incorporated the five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship throughout the year.
This year, our student-athletes and coaches made a remarkable impact beyond the playing field. They embraced community service with enthusiasm and heart:
- Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Women’s Volleyball partnered with Student Life & Activities and the Athletics Department to raise awareness for pediatric cancer through special game-day events.
- Women’s Soccer brought joy to the community by volunteering at Brookdale’s annual Haunted Theater.
- Men’s and Women’s Cross Country participated in Asbury Park’s 5K Santa Run to support Lunch Break, a local nonprofit, and volunteered at Brookdale’s Fall and Spring Open Houses.
- Baseball donated equipment to Meadowcreek High School in Duluth, GA, supporting fellow student-athletes in need.
- SAAC, in collaboration with all intercollegiate teams, organized a campus-wide food drive for Brookdale’s Nutrition Hub, a spirited Dodgeball Tournament while incorporating a Toys for Tots fundraiser, and a celebratory brunch honoring National Girls & Women in Sports Day – recognizing past, present, and future Jersey Blues women student-athletes.
