The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore have honored Dr. Jackeline Mejias-Fuertes with their prestigious Woman of Distinction award, recognizing her remarkable leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to uplifting others.

A dynamic force in New Jersey’s business and education landscape, Dr. Mejias-Fuertes serves as the Regional Director of the New Jersey Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at Brookdale Community College. With more than three decades of experience in business development, she has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs launch and grow successful ventures across the state.

Under her leadership, the NJSBDC at Brookdale has received both national and regional recognition for its impact, playing a vital role in cultivating a thriving small business ecosystem in the Shore region.

Beyond her institutional work, Dr. Mejias-Fuertes is the co-founder of J&J Disruptive Enterprises, a global initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs, and the founder of Women Entrepreneurs Rock, an annual event series that celebrates and supports women in business.
