Athens and Venice: Interior Design and Architecture

What do Callicrates and Ictinus, Palladio, and Carlo Scarpa have in common? For one, they are the stars of our Summer 2026 Study Abroad tour. Why? Consider this: one of the best definitions of creativity is the ability to see and make connections between seemingly unrelated things – and that includes people. Like all our trips, this is geared toward enhancing the creativity of interior designers, architects, and all manner of artists and designers. So, from the ancient world to the modern, we’ll uncover not only the connections between these seemingly very different artists, but also how each of these masters embodied this creative principle in their work. We’ll start with a quick stop in Athens to absorb the qualities of Classicism at peak perfection; then hop over to Italy, where, from Venice to the Veneto, we’ll integrate that with two of Italy’s most unique, innovative, and creative architects/designers, who lived and worked centuries apart from each other: Andrea Palladio and Carlo Scarpa. Our journey will take us from the Parthenon to the Palladio’s villas, to the Brion Cemetery, and beyond. To find out more, come to one of the information sessions listed below. Hope to see you there!
