LINCROFT, NJ (Nov. 30, 2016) – Wall Township resident Madeline Ferraro was sworn in as the newest member of the Brookdale Community College Board of Trustees during the board’s annual reorganization meeting in Lincroft on Nov. 29.

Since 2002, Ferraro has served as vice president of government relations and public affairs for the Morristown-based nonprofit health care network Atlantic Health System. There she oversees all legislative and regulatory matters for the organization and meets regularly with federal, state and local government officials.

A former deputy attorney general for the state of New Jersey and a member of Governor Christine Todd Whitman’s senior staff from 1994 to 1996, today Ferraro also serves as an adjunct professor for the Rutgers University School of Public Affairs and Administration.

She currently sits on a variety of public boards and committees, including the boards of the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce, the National Public Affairs Council, the New Jersey Hospital Association and the Fair Share Hospital Collaborative.

Ferraro is a former member of the Brookdale Board of Trustees, serving from 1996 to 2004.

“I’m very excited to return as a Brookdale trustee,” said Ferraro, adding that she has lived in Monmouth County for more than 35 years. “I hope to use my experience as a professional, a community member and a mother of two college-age girls to contribute to the board and support local students in their quest for a quality education and a better life.”

Following a swearing-in ceremony, Ferraro was welcomed to the board by Brookdale President Maureen Murphy and board chair Carl Guzzo, Jr., who was elected to serve a third consecutive one-year term as chair during the reorganization meeting.

“Trustee Ferraro will be an outstanding addition to this board,” Guzzo said. “She knows Brookdale and Monmouth County very well, and we’re looking forward to working with her and getting a lot done this year.”

Ferraro replaces former trustee Lora Campbell, who had served on the board since 2011.
