Brookdale Community College and The College of New Jersey Announce Unique Partnership Offering Affordable Four-Year College Experience

The-College-of-New-JerseyBrookdale Community College and The College of New Jersey are proud to announce Brookdale at TCNJ, a new partnership that offers students the opportunity to obtain their associate degree from Brookdale while living on the TCNJ campus and experiencing the full range of four-year college life.

This partnership provides a unique and affordable pathway for students to pursue higher education, blending the community college experience with the on-campus environment of a top-tier university. In addition to 2+2 baccalaureate programs, the partnership will provide opportunities for post-baccalaureate and master’s degrees.

Students enrolled in this program will take their associate degree classes taught by Brookdale professors on the TCNJ campus, fully integrating into the TCNJ community. Participants will have access to all campus facilities and resources, including residence halls, dining services, and student activities.

This partnership is designed to provide Brookdale students with the academic foundation of a two-year college while immersing them in the broader social and extracurricular opportunities of a four-year institution.

Students in the program will sign a housing contract for the entire academic year, ensuring a stable and consistent living experience on the TCNJ campus. Winter Break Housing is available, and they will also be eligible for the Meals Per Week plan, providing convenient access to dining services throughout their time at TCNJ.

Dr. David M. Stout, President of Brookdale Community College, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This comprehensive Articulation and Dual Enrollment Agreement marks a significant milestone in our mission to provide accessible and affordable higher education. It ensures a seamless transition for Brookdale students to TCNJ, offering them the unique opportunity to experience life on a four-year college campus while earning their associate degree. This partnership helps to prepare them for future academic and career success.”

“We are happy to welcome Brookdale Community College students to our campus community to experience and enjoy all that TCNJ has to offer,” said TCNJ President Michael Bernstein. “This affordable and convenient program is another step in TCNJ’s commitment to broaden access to higher education in our state and provide students with additional pathways to pursue their academic and professional goals.”

The agreement outlines a wide range of majors across various schools, including the School of Business, School of Education, School of Engineering, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and School of Science.

The agreement also offers a dual enrollment option for Monmouth County residents not initially accepted at TCNJ. This allows them to start through this Brookdale –TCNJ Partnership program and transfer to TCNJ upon meeting the necessary requirements. Additional benefits include the opportunity to compete for one of five $2,000 scholarships and waived application fees and deposits.

This partnership is designed to provide Brookdale students with a clear and affordable pathway to completing their baccalaureate degrees at TCNJ, supported by advising from both institutions throughout their academic journey.
