Artistic Journeys, featuring a range of visual art works by six painters and two sculptors from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, will be on display in the Center for the Visual Arts (CVA) Gallery at Brookdale Community College through February 28, 2019.

The artists with paintings in the show include Pat Cresson of Freehold, James Kent of Oceanport, Cecilia Swatton of Red Bank, Christopher Taylor of Red Bank, Gail Kolflat of Little Silver, and Colleen Lineberry of Ocean. Lineberry, an English Professor at Brookdale, will speak about the exhibit, which contains several of her colorful abstractions, at a reception in the CVA Gallery at 6 p.m. on January 31.

Original 3D works from sculptors Lisa Naples of Doylestown, Pennsylvania and Judi Tavill of Rumson, add additional perspectives to Artistic Journeys. Naples will discuss the evolution of her works at 6:30 p.m. following Colleen Lineberry’s talk.

The theme of Artistic Journeys includes earlier and very recent works from each artist, enabling visitors to examine the progression, inspiration and focus of each artist through the years.

“Visitors and students will have an opportunity to see how each artist’s style has evolved and changed over the years by comparing works from different periods,” said Professor Marie Maber, curator of the CVA Gallery.

The CVA Gallery is open, free of charge, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information on the CVA Gallery and Artistic Journeys, contact Professor Maber at mmaber@brookdalecc.edu or Phyllis Nicholson at 732-224-2014.
