During the Gilded Age, Long Branch became the summer resort of the U.S. Presidents. Starting with U.S. Grant, seven presidents visited and stayed in Long Branch and nearby West Long Branch. One, James Garfield, took his last breath here. Spend an evening with us as we look at when Long Branch was the summer capital.
