Configuring Brookdale Secure Wifi for Windows

The Brookdale Secure network provides encrypted connectivity for wireless users.  Brookdale Secure requires a one-time setup to configure automatically your device to use this network. Login in once and the connection will remain available to you while you are on any Brookdale campus.

In order to connect a personal windows based laptop or tablet to the Brookdale Secure Wifi, you must complete the wireless network configuration steps below. This is a one-time configuration set-up. Once configured, the connection will automatically connect to the Brookdale Secure Wifi while you are on any Brookdale campus. Brookdale Students, Staff, and Faculty must complete the steps below to connect a personal windows laptop or tablet to the Brookdale Secure Network

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar, then click on “Network & Internet Settings”

  2. Click on “Network and Sharing Center”

  3. Click on “Set up a new connection or network”

  4. Select “Manually connect to a wireless network” and click “Next”

  5. Enter the Network name “Brookdale-Secure” (case sensitive) and select the Security type “WPA2-Enterprise” then click “Next”

  6. Click on “Change connection settings”

  7. Click on the “Security” tab

  8. Click on the “Settings” button

  9. Uncheck the box next to “Verify the server’s identity” then click “OK”

  10. Click on the “Advanced settings” button

  11. Check the box next to “Specify authentication mode” and select “User authentication” from the dropdown menu. Click on “Save credentials”

  12. Enter your NetID username and password, then click OK on all three windows

  13. Click “Close”

  14. Click on the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar to confirm you are now connected to Brookdale-Secure
