Screen Lock Policy
In keeping with educational and industry security standards, the Screen Lock Policy will automatically lock the computer screen of any unattended employee office computer after 15 minutes of inactivity. Employees will need to re-enter their NetID Password to unlock the computer. This cybersecurity measure helps prevent others from viewing, accessing the digital information, or gaining access to accounts of unattended devices.
15-Minute Screen Lock Policy Overview
- The 15-Minute Screen Lock policy does not impact Classroom instruction and lab computers.
- The 15-Minute Screen Lock policy only exempts instructional-facing classroom and lab computers and accounts.
- The 15-minute Screen policy is applied to any computer a user logs into with their credentials.
- The 15-minute Screen Lock policy does not affect background processes or sleep settings.
