Getting Started at Brookdale for Students with Accessibility Needs

 

Follow these steps in a timely manner, in order to receive services*

Apply to Brookdale Community College
Fill out an application for admission to Brookdale and pay the admission fee.
Parking Lot 5, Center for Counseling, Admissions & Registration (CAR), Office of the Registrar, (732) 224-2944

Make an appointment with the Accessibility Services Office
Call us at (732) 224-2730 (Voice) or (732) 842-4211 (TTY) or visit the office: Parking Lot 5, Main Academic Complex (MAC), Room 111, to make an appointment.

You will need to bring appropriate documentation of your disability to the appointment, and sign the Consent form. You will then be assigned an Academic Advisor to assist you with the process of choosing your courses and registering at Brookdale.

Per the pre-registration Basic Skills testing requirements, take the Accuplacer test.
Parking Lot 5, Center for Counseling, Admissions & Registration (CAR) – the Testing Center is on the lower level. No appointment is necessary. Call (732) 224-2229 for current hours or visit the Testing Center online.

Schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor to select your classes.
Parking Lot 5, Center for Counseling, Admissions & Registration (CAR), 2nd Floor, Counseling Area (lift is available in the lobby; just ask).

After the appointment with your Academic Advisor:

Register for Classes – Go directly to the Office of the Registrar to register for your classes.
Arrange tuition payment – Visit the Cashier in the Accounting Office and make arrangements for payment. Learn more about tuition payment options.

* Please note the above steps are recommended. Students do not have to meet with the Accessibility Services Office prior to registering for classes. Your process should be initiated at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the term you will be attending.
