Student Life & Activities supports volunteer service in our efforts to build community throughout Monmouth County and beyond.  Through our partnerships with other Brookdale departments and community organizations we help to plan events such as the ones listed below.  In addition, all recognized clubs and organizations are required to complete one service project to remain in good standing.

Brookdale Cares Days of Volunteer Service

2026 Brain injury Alliance of NJ’s CRASH Project: We are excited to announce Student Life & Activities is participating in this statewide safe-driving initiative.
Students can pledge to drive safely on April 1 and get a free ice cream treat from the SLB!
Students can participate in our safe driving awareness event with Brookdale Esports and the Sheriff’s Office on April 9.

A More Perfect Union Peace-by-Piece: Get involved with Transformative Learning and create a piece of the custom Brookdale Community Quilt. The community quilt is both a metaphor and a practice of democracy: many hands, different perspectives, one shared vision. All are invited to create quilt squares that express ideas of courage, democracy, and community. Schedule your quilting session by clicking here!

Caroline Huber Wellness Center Hygiene Drive: Bringing our campus community together to support the Wellness Station, which helps ensure access to basic hygiene necessities for all students and community members. Donations can be dropped off directly to the Wellness Center.

Campus Cleanup with Student Life & Activities: Join SLA as a part of Spring Fling to help beautify the Lincroft campus. Help us be a Wave of Change on April 22. Sign up to participate by clicking here!

Habitat for Humanity Spring Lake 5: Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity will be helping runners stay hydrated during the Spring Lake Run on May 23. There are water stations throughout the 5 mile course and Habitat for Humanity has been asked to help manage them. This wonderful event draws over 10,000 people to the gorgeous town of Spring Lake for the kick off to summer. Sign-up to help Habitat by clicking here!

Alternative Spring Break with Habitat for Humanity

Previously, Student Life & Activities partnered with Habitat for Humanity’s Collegiate Challenge program to bring students on a week long service project.  Habitat provided housing, supervision and materials through their local affiliates, and students got to learn invaluable skills in construction and team-building while helping ensure that every family has a safe, affordable place to live. Trips included:
