Liberal Arts can be studied at the undergraduate level through Brookdale’s  University Partnerships. The preferred associate degree for bachelor’s degree is located at the end of the program description.

BA English, offered by Georgian Court University

If you have a passion for creativity and critical thinking, written expression or literary interpretation, you just might be an English major.

With a B.A. in English from Georgian Court University, you can pursue careers in teaching, law, administration, publishing, journalism, marketing and public relations, and so much more. This interdisciplinary studies and inclusive elementary education program includes New Jersey’s Psychology/Elementary (K–6) Education with Teacher of Students with Disabilities (Special Education) Endorsement. You will graduate with a B.A. in Psychology with Teacher Certification

BS Labor and Employment Relations, offered by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

The School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) announces a new degree completion program focused on issues in the workplace. The BS is designed so that students with associate’s degrees or equivalent credits can complete a bachelor’s degree through a flexible combination of online, weekend, evening, and/or off-campus courses. Daytime classes are also available.

The program offers a number of advantages:

• An array of valuable employment-related courses of interest to working adults
• A prestigious degree from Rutgers
• Optional minors in related subjects
• Flexibility of enrollment in the number of courses taken per term
• Flexible registration deadlines
• Personal advising
• Re-enrollment made easy for those who must interrupt their studies, and

BA Political Science, offered by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

The Department of Political Science at Rutgers University – Camden offers a wide range of courses that students have found useful in preparation for careers in law, government service, and public affairs, as well as for graduate studies in political science and public policy. The department curriculum is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of politics and government in the United States, foreign countries, and the international system. Courses are equally valuable for career-oriented majors and for students interested in developing a well-rounded liberal arts background. Students with AA or AS degrees are eligible to apply to this program. Interested students should plan to take Introduction to Political Science before applying to Rutgers. BA Psychology, offered by Georgian Court University

The B.A. in Psychology program at Georgian Court University introduces techniques for investigating and understanding human behavior.

What makes the study of psychology so special at GCU? You will learn from faculty members who are professionals in the field and deliver real-world experiences through rewarding internships and research. There are two tracks (graduate and general) that include mental health and human services, human development, business and industry, applied behavior analysis, and addictions counseling—that let you tailor the program to meet your interests and professional aspirations.

BA Social Work, offered by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

The major prepares students to enter social work, a profession with a long history of concern and action for the well-being of individuals, families, groups, and communities. Students are prepared for generalist practice, with emphasis on populations at risk. The department is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and includes academic coursework and supervised field practice. Graduates are eligible for certification by the New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners and also for advanced standing if they pursue graduate study in social work. B.S.W. offered by Georgian Court University

GCU@Lincroft’s dual admission agreement with Brookdale Community College affords students the opportunity to begin their undergraduate studies at Lincoft campus and finish with a B.S.W. degree from Georgian Court University. GCU@Lincroft’s rigorous curriculum focuses on ethics, values, critical thinking, human behavior, and social and economic justice—all to prepare students to become change agents in today’s world, especially for those who are at a disadvantage. Upon graduation, students can obtain certification upon application to the State Board of Social Work Examiners. A B.S.W. degree makes students more marketable in these tough economic times. They will graduate with fieldwork experience and be able to become a habilitation specialist, an activity director, or a workshop director. Graduates are fully equipped for employment in social services, county and home health agencies, group homes, and nursing homes.

Additionally, a B.S.W. degree from GCU@Lincroft makes graduates eligible to apply for advanced standing when pursuing a Master of Social Work degree.
