Transfer Agreements (by Academic Program)

Articulation Agreements are formal agreements between Brookdale and other colleges and universities. These agreements define how the courses you complete at Brookdale will apply to your future bachelor’s degree when you transfer into a baccalaureate program. *This page is constantly being updated, so please check back often. Please reach out to transfer@brookdalecc.edu if you have any questions about this page!

*Note: The Transfer Guides below should be used for informational purposes only. Official information should be sought out from your potential transfer institutions. Final decisions on transfer credits are made solely by your chosen transfer institution. You can also check www.NJTransfer.org for the most up to date transfer information for New Jersey Colleges/Universities.

Your Academic Advisor can help you select courses that will meet the requirements of your transfer institution, while also filling your Brookdale graduation requirements.

Click below to learn more about each college/university with which Brookdale has a transfer agreement. Check back often, as more agreements are added every semester!

*Note: If you are a Visiting Student of another college/university, these agreements and course equivalencies do not apply. Please check with your college/university about course equivalencies before registering for coursework. Transfer Agreements are applicable to students who complete their Associate Degree at Brookdale Community College and transfer into a corresponding program at a transfer institution.

Below the transfer agreements are listed by Academic Program. Keep in mind that AAS (Associate of Applied Science) and AFA (Associate of Fine Arts) degrees are not considered transfer degrees, however Brookdale may still have transfer agreements for these majors!

NJ Transfer Law

The law applies to AA and AS (transfer) degree programs, not to AFA (transfer) or AAS (career) programs.

It is valid only for NJ public institutions:
Kean University, Union NJ
Ramapo College of New Jersey, Mahwah NJ
TCNJ/The College of New Jersey, Ewing NJ
The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Pomona NJ
Thomas Edison State University, Trenton, NJ
William Paterson University of New Jersey, Wayne NJ

And New Jersey Public Research Universities:
New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark NJ
Montclair State University
Rowan University, Glassboro NJ
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick NJ

Major-to-major transfer will work best under this law. If you change your mind about what you want to study after you transfer, you may not get credit for all of your courses.

Some majors at the four-year college will take more than an additional two years to complete because program requirements are more than 120-128 credits (Architecture and Engineering are two examples).

The law does not guarantee that you will be accepted; transfer admission to a public four-year college is still competitive. Some majors require you to complete specific courses and have higher grade point averages to be eligible (business, teaching, engineering are examples).

Your Responsibilities

  • Follow General Education requirements carefully.
  • Choose your transfer major carefully.
  • Choose your transfer school(s) as soon as you possibly can.
  • Check your transfer school(s) program requirements (prerequisites and course level, etc.).
