NCCER Construction Foreman Certification Program
Advance your construction career by developing the leadership skills needed to successfully supervise crews and manage jobsite operations. The NCCER Construction Foreman Certification Program is designed for experienced journey-level craft professionals, lead workers, and crew leaders who are ready to transition into foreman and first-line supervisory roles.
Through a combination of online learning and instructor-led facilitation, participants will build practical leadership and management skills that can be applied immediately on the job. The curriculum focuses on leading construction teams, improving communication, increasing productivity, maintaining quality standards, and promoting safe, efficient worksites. Additional topics include workforce planning, conflict resolution, motivation, problem-solving, and the responsibilities of effective construction suerpvisors.
Upon successful completion of the coursework and passing the NCCER Construction Foreman Certification Assessment, participants who meet NCCER’s two-year journey-level experience requirement will earn the NCCER Construction Foreman Certification. Participants who successfully pass the assessment but have not yet met the required industry experience will receive the designation “NCCER Construction Foreman-Knowledge Verified Candidate for Certification” until the experience requirements is fulfilled.
Recommended Prerequisites
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 18
- At least two years of journey-level experience in a construction trade or equivalent leadership experience as a lead worker or crew leader
- Basic computer skills and access to a computer with internet
- Completion of an NCCER craft program and OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification are recommended but not required.

NCCER Construction Superintendent Certification Program
Take your construction leadership expertise to the next level with the NCCER Construction Superintedent Certification Program. Designed for experienced construction professionals, responsible for overseeing projects, managing field operations, and leading multiple teams, this program prepares participants for the complex responsibilities of construction superintendents and senior field leaders.
Through a combination of online learning and instructor-led facilitation, participants will develop advanced leadership, management, and project execution skills that can be applied immediately in the field. The curriculum covers leadership and communication, constructability, work planning, site logistics, scheduling, contracts, and procurement, cost control, quality assurance, safety management, risk management, legal compliance, human resources, resource management, and project closeout. Participants will gain practical strategies for coordinating subcontractors, managing project schedules and budgets, solving jobsite challenges, and delivering successful construction projects.
The Construction Superintendent Certification Program is certified by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), providing additional industry recognition and credibility. Upon successful completion of the coursework and passing the NCCER Construction Superintendent Certification Assessment, participants who meet NCCER’s experience requirements will earn the NCCER Construction Superintendent Certification. Participants who successfully pass the assessment but have not yet met the required industry experience will receive the designation “NCCER Construction Superintendent – Knowledge Verified Candidate for Certification” until the experience requirement is fulfilled.

Construction Management with OSHA
