Launch your career in the skilled trades with Brookdale Community College’s Construction Foundations Certificate. This hands-on training program provides students with the foundational knowledge, skills, and industry-recognized credentials needed to enter careers in construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and related trades.

Using the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core Curriculum, students will learn essential construction safety practices, construction math, hand and power tool use, blueprint reading, material handling, communication skills, and employability competencies valued by employers throughout the construction industry. Classroom instruction is combined with practical demonstrations and hands-on activities that prepare students for entry-level employment and advanced trade training.

Upon successful completion, students will earn NCCER Core certification and OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification. The program serves as a pathway to additional NCCER craft training, registered apprenticeships, and employment opportunities throughout New Jersey’s growing construction and skilled trades sectors.
