The Writing Center runs workshops and events each semester on a variety of topics. Students and employees interested in a workshop may register in advance for the workshop using links below. If no link is provided, the event is first-come, first-served.

Paraphrasing for Research Papers

In-person: Tuesday, February 3, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The Writing Center (Larrison Hall, Room 118)

Online: Wednesday, February 11, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Zoom (Zoom link will be sent to those who register)

All research papers need paraphrasing. It is also a skill nurses, business workers, and even your professors use every day. Learn what paraphrasing is and how to do it for your English research papers and beyond.

Open to all students from any course. To register, please email writingcenterhelp@brookdalecc.edu with your name, email address, the workshop name, and the date you will attend.

APA Format Workshop

Thursday, February 19, from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Many majors and courses, such as Health Sciences and Psychology, use APA (American Psychological Association) format for citations and paper formatting. In this workshop, you’ll learn the ins and outs of APA format (7th edition) and how to use it properly to make your papers look clean and professional.

Open to all students and also to professors looking for a refresh on APA rules. To register for the APA workshop, please email writingcenterhelp@brookdalecc.edu with the heading “APA Workshop” and include your name and email address in the body of the message.
