Welcome! The radiologic technology students are not just students, they are part of our professional family. As a radiologic technology student, you will live and breathe radiologic science and will spend more time in the two years as a student with your new family rather than your personal family. You are generally in class 12 hours per week, in laboratory 5 hours per week and in clinical practice 16 hours per week and working in study groups another 5 hours per week. Take a short journey with the students (YouTube video created by Brookdale Radiography students).

The students have organized a club “Radiologic Technology Student Organization” (RTSO). Students have organized day trips to science museums, Bodyworks exhibit in New York City, and the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Students have participated overnight in Atlantic City at the annual New Jersey Society of Radiologic Technologists conference. The students have organized community service projects: collected food for the Monmouth County Food Bank, donated books to medical imaging students in Africa, sponsored fundraising events for scholarships, and provided gifts for less fortunate children during the holidays. They have organized 3 day conferences at Brookdale with renowned speakers like Richard Carlton, Phillip Ballinger, Bill Hennessey and more!!!

SHADOW PROGRAM – Our shadow program provides an opportunity for Brookdale students to visit a local Radiology Department to tour the department, observe the performance of radiographic procedures, and speak with technologists, clinical instructors and students about the profession and our program.

If you would like to “shadow” a radiologic technologist at a local hospital to get a better idea what the profession is about, please email Dr. Konn at tkonn@brookdalecc.edu and in the email inform her of your request and identify the town in which you live. She will then give you the contact information for your local hospital.
