Conditional Acceptance into the Nursing Program
Brookdale Community College will notify students of their conditional Nursing program acceptance pending (but not limited to):
- Successful completion of academic pre-requisite courses
- Attendance at the mandatory Program Orientation
- Proof of Malpractice Insurance
- Proof of CPR Card valid for at least the incoming semester
- Passport ID photo
- Clear Criminal History Background Checks/Negative Urine Drug Test
Completion of a physical examination including:
- Various titers, current flu vaccination, COVID vaccination, TB screening and a statement by a licensed health care provider affirming the student is able to meet the demands of the program without compromising the patient or themselves.
- About 6-8 months before the anticipated start of the nursing program, begin to collect documents showing your immunization history.
- You will need to show:
- Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) vaccination within the past 5 years
- Either documentation of vaccination against rubeola, mumps, varicella or titers indicating immunity
- Proof of vaccination against Hepatitis B AND titers indicating immunity
- COVID vaccination
- Current TB screening. TB screening needs to occur shortly before starting the program
- Flu vaccine for the current season
