The English Department is a dynamic group of teachers, researchers, authors, poets, artists, and students. We are connected by our shared passion for language, literature, teaching, learning, and technology innovation.

In addition to the required courses in composition, we offer a wide variety of literature courses that are popular choices for general education and elective credits. Students interested in an English major can choose one of our Humanities A.A. degree options in English or Creative Writing.

We also support a local chapter of the National English Honor Society for two-year colleges.

Writing, thinking, empathy, ethics, collaboration, and creativity – the abilities and insights you develop in English courses – can help you in any major or career you choose and may even give you an edge in the job market.
