Radiologic Technology Staff and Faculty

The faculty of the radiologic technology program is dedicated to student success. There are three full-time faculty; Terry Konn, Ph.D., Kathleen Taggart, MS. and Patricia Hammer.

Dr. Konn has been teaching radiologic science for over 39 years and has been a program director for 36 years. She has taught all courses within the curriculum and has taught outside of the U.S. as a visiting professor at the Kigali Health Institute in Rwanda, Africa and in Accra, Ghana. Her doctorate dissertation investigated medical imaging regulation and how it impacts the quality of medical imaging services in New Jersey. Dr. Konn has also conducted research on the learning styles of medical imaging students in New Jersey and in Africa. She helped to develop the first medical imaging program in Rwanda after its 1994 genocide. She has made numerous presentations on medical imaging topics to students, professionals, and physicians around the world.

Ms. Taggart is the program’s clinical coordinator and has been teaching radiographic procedures for over twelve years. She worked as a laboratory assistant prior to teaching in the classroom. She has had abundant clinical practice experience in general radiography, emergency room and trauma, and the operating room.

Mrs. Patricia Hammer has been employed in local hospitals and outpatient facilities since graduating from Brookdale’s Radiography program. Through this work history, she’s gained experience in trauma imaging, fluoroscopy, outpatient imaging, preventing the spread of disease, and patient care. Additionally, she’s been working for Brookdale in the lab, clinical sites, and tutoring when students need it.

In addition, the program has part-time laboratory and clinical instructors. These instructors work directly with students in the college laboratory and in the clinical settings to supervise and evaluate students.
