Middle States Accreditation
Brookdale Community College is fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), confirming the College meets rigorous standards for educational quality and institutional effectiveness.
Brookdale, with its main campus located in Lincroft, New Jersey, has been accredited by MSCHE since 1972. MSCHE is a global institutional accreditor recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
This institutional-level accreditation covers all programs offered by the College, ensuring the quality of its curricula, faculty, and overall institutional operations.
Significance of Accreditation
MSCHE accreditation ensures that Brookdale Community College:
- Delivers high quality education aligned with its mission and educational goals
- Meets federal and state requirements for participation in Title IV federal financial aid programs
- Provides assurances to students, families, transfer institutions, and employers about the validity and rigor of its degrees and certificates

The 2026–2027 Self-Study Process
MSCHE last reaffirmed the College’s accreditation in 2019. Since April 2024, the College has been engaged in the process of documenting and describing its compliance with all MSCHE accreditation criteria. The College is planning to host the MSCHE Visiting Team in Fall 2026 with official MSCHE reaccreditation occurring in Spring 2027.
