Middletown resident and former Brookdale physics faculty member Marta Rambaud was sworn in to the Brookdale Board of Trustees in May  2016.

Originally from Spain, Rambaud earned a master’s degree in applied physics from Madrid Autonoma University before being recruited to work at AT&T Bell Labs in Pennsylvania in 1990.

She has spent the majority of her professional career with AT&T Bell Labs, while also earning a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, co-authoring a number of scientific papers and securing several patents in digital circuit design.

Spurred on by a passion for teaching and learning, Rambaud also served an adjunct professor of physics at Brookdale from 2007 to 2010.

As a Brookdale trustee, Rambaud said she hopes to use her wide range of technical and professional experience for the betterment of the college and its students. From technology in the classroom to the promotion of STEM education for young women, Rambaud said she is excited to lend her voice, passions and knowledge to the board.

“Brookdale is an extremely valuable asset for the residents of Monmouth County,” said Rambaud, after being sworn in. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve Brookdale students and community members as a member of the board.”
