The Tuition-Free Brookdale / Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG) pays for the cost of tuition and approved educational fees that other grants do not cover. The program is a partnership administered by OSHE and HESAA.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Have a total household adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less
- Be a NJ resident or Dreamer for 12 months prior to starting classes
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA) or the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application, whichever is applicable to your status
- Enroll in at least six (6) credits at Brookdale Community College
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Must not have already earned an Associate or Bachelor’s degree

Tuition-free Brookdale Services & Programs
Brookdale Community College offers an exciting opportunity for students through its tuition-free program – Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG) initiative. The program is aimed at reducing financial barriers and enabling a broader range of individuals to pursue their academic and career goals.
Student Success Navigators at Brookdale College enhance community engagement by building local relationships to promote access to Brookdale, raise awareness of the Community College Opportunity Grant, and support student success. They actively engage with students and families, address barriers to college access, and coordinate participation in community events across Monmouth County.
FAFSA Coaches provide support to students and parents through the financial aid process by offering guidance on available programs and procedures focused on debt-free aid. They provide direct assistance with completing the FAFSA and NJ Alternative Financial Aid Forms for new and continuing students. By appointment online via zoom or in-person at one of Brookdale’s convenient locations.
Pathway Mentors support Brookdale students, especially at regional locations, by engaging student caseloads, providing accurate information about college programs, services and career opportunities. Mentors offer personalized support for academic and life challenges, addressing barriers to success, and connecting students to additional resources.
