Montez SwartzMontez Swartz serves as the Graduate Trustee on Brookdale Community College’s Board of Trustees, representing the student voice and advocating for forward-thinking policies that support academic excellence, workforce readiness, and community engagement.

A Political Science Honors student, Montez has held several leadership roles during his time at Brookdale, including President of the Student Life Board and President of the Honors Association. He also serves as a student officer on the Code of Conduct Board, mentoring peers and helping to ensure fairness in the student conduct process.

Dedicated to public service and student advocacy, Montez has completed multiple internships, including with Brookdale’s Office of Government Affairs and Community Relations. His experiences have shaped a focused platform as a Graduate Trustee centered on advancing AI literacy across the curriculum, enhancing campus sustainability efforts, and expanding internship and fellowship opportunities for all students.

Outside of academics, Montez has served on the executive boards of the Film & TV Club and Fashion Club and even hosted his student talk show, reflecting his belief in the transformative power of student engagement. He currently works weekends at the Monmouth Museum, where he leads educational tours for children.

Montez is currently finalizing his transfer plans, with Princeton University and The College of New Jersey among his top choices. Regardless of where he continues his education, his commitment to Brookdale and its students remains at the heart of his work.

He believes Brookdale is not just a place to earn credits—but a place to find your voice, build your future, and discover who you are.
